What to include
These four things let most problems be diagnosed from the first message:
- Your Jira site URL (for example
yourcompany.atlassian.net) - Whether you are on Jira Cloud, and roughly how many issues the gadget is configured to look at
- The gadget's configuration: the JQL filter, and which statuses you picked as "started" and "done"
- What you expected to see and what you saw instead — a screenshot helps a lot
Common questions
Why is a percentile line missing?
Percentile lines are only drawn when there are enough samples for the number to mean something.
Below that threshold the line is deliberately omitted and the gadget says how many samples are
needed. A 95th percentile computed from a handful of issues would just be the maximum, which is
worse than showing nothing.
Why does the count not match my filter?
The gadget counts issues that completed inside the time window and that have a
recorded transition into the status you chose as "started". Some issues are excluded, and the
gadget always shows how many and why — it never silently counts them as zero.
An issue's cycle time looks wrong.
If an issue was reopened, the last completion is used. If an issue re-entered the start status,
the last entry is used. If an issue was created already sitting in the start status, there is no
"entered the start status" event to find, so its clock starts at creation — those items are
counted separately and the count is shown.
Privacy
What the app reads and stores is documented in the privacy policy. In short: it reads Jira issues as you, stores a one-hour cache inside Atlassian's own storage, and sends nothing to any external service.
